Prior to college, there are several steps students can take
to help choose and prepare for careers in engineering, mathematics,
technology, or the physical sciences. Many of these ideas can
help students focus on a career path by giving them exposure
to the types of activities with different career areas.
A number of sources are available at school, at the library,
in the community, and on the internet to research potential careers.
A link to one of these sources is provided here. The Sloan
Career Cornerstone Center offers free information, answers
many questions and suggests students consider the following when
researching careers:
|
Course Selection
Student Networking
School Counselors
Connecting with Professionals
Checking Out Learning Resources at Science Centers and Museums
Participating in Programs and Projects |
