MISSION STATEMENT
Tippecanoe STEM Education, Inc. comprises members of the Tipp
City / Monroe Township community and schools with a strong interest
and background in science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics
(STEM), who work together to create a strong interest and improved
ability in those same areas by the students of the Tipp City
School District, by improving the delivery of STEM concepts,
improving the students' attitude and perception of these areas
through contacts with successful adults with STEM backgrounds
and careers. Success will be measured by the number of students
annually entering STEM related college majors and careers. Data
from follow up surveys of these students will be used to measure
success and identify areas in need of improvement.
VISION
To generate excitement for science, technology, engineering
and mathematics among Tipp City School District students and
to facilitate careers in these fields.
STRATEGIC PLAN
A. Identify existing programs or create new ones that will
aide or enhance the learning experience of students in the Tipp
City School District in STEM related areas of study.
B. Identify equipment and learning materials that will aide or
enhance the learning experience of students in the Tipp City
School District in STEM related areas of study
C. Prioritize and determine cost estimates for the needs listed
in A & B above, identify potential funding sources, match
needs listed in A & B above to those funding sources, implement
ways and means to secure those funds, and disburse successfully
acquired funds as needed for each identified item.
D. Identify areas for volunteerism that will aide or enhance
the learning experience of students in the Tipp City School District
in STEM related areas of study.
E. Identify and implement ways to create a positive and enriched
academic environment where students interested in the STEM fields
are respected, admired and recognized as a source of school pride.
